A mass planting of muhly grass flourishes across from Sarasota Airport.  It is frequently used in Florida native plantings.

Muhly grass does well in all conditions.  They can be seen growing next to sea oat grass in sand dunes along the beach.  Here they grow near silver buttonwood at Siesta key.
